
In the late 1950s, countries in Africa were beginning to gain their independence. One of these countries was Cameroon, which was preparing for independence through being a United Nations trust territory.
As Cameroon prepared for independence, the United States prepared to establish diplomatic ties with a new country by opening a consulate in Yaoundé. You can read about the work to create this new consulate at the link!
