
On this day in 1987, Palestinians poured into Israel to violently protest the Israeli occupiers of Palestinian territory after the deaths of four Palestinian refugees. The Intifada (انتفاضة, meaning “tremor”) lasted for four years, and ended at the Madrid Peace Conference of 1991.
