Starting Nov. 30, PBS NewsHour brings you inside Africa’s most populous country.

Despite being the richest country on the continent, Nigeria’s citizens are twice as likely to be impoverished today than 30 years ago. Many blame the country’s poverty and corruption for fueling the terrorists organization Boko Haram - which in 2014 killed more people than the Islamic State group.

The four part “Nigeria: Pain and Promise” series (Nov 30 - Dec 3) explores the country’s ongoing battle with Boko Haram, economic promise, corruption and treatment of gay Nigerians.
