You’ve heard of the Cold War, but have you heard of the Chicken War?
The Chicken War wasn’t a war, but a fight for imports. Europe’s new Common Agricultural Policy in 1957 meant that American farmers, in particular poultry farmers, would have a tough time entering and competing the European market after its implementation.
